Seconds of my Life by Jamel Shabazz

If you didn't goto the book release and exhibition of Jamel Shabazz's Seconds of my Life. You really missed out. It was a great event and the images on display were incredible. I have never been so inspired. I had been wanting to meet Jamel since I saw his book A time Before Crack. He has been shooting African American communities and life for over 25 years. The reason I relate to his images so much is because what he is doing is similar to what I am trying to do with the South Asian community. The passion he has for his lifelong project and dedication just shows me that I am on the right track and hopefully the images I take will be an important document years down the line.
